98 boots slouches and folds at the top, creating loose gathers of leather that drape around the ankle. Two silver-toned buckle straps wrap across the front, one near the top of the foot and another just below the shaft. The lower strap sits on a band decorated with small metal studs.
The leather has a textured, slightly crinkled surface with a shimmery finish that catches the light. The color shifts between black and dark charcoal depending on the angle. You can see creasing across the vamp and around the ankle from wear and the natural slouch of the design.
The toe is rounded and the heel is a low block style. The sole is black rubber with visible tread. The buckles have a gunmetal finish with rectangular frames and metal prongs. The shaft leather is soft enough to fold over on itself, which gives the boots their characteristic rumpled look.
