The Calvados boot is built around layered straps and buckles. A wide woven strap wraps the ankle, secured with a metal buckle. Just below it, a studded leather strap crosses the boot, fastened with a second buckle. Both straps sit over a textured canvas-like material that covers the upper ankle and heel counter.
The leather on the toe and vamp is smooth, in a warm cognac brown with some natural variation in tone. The toe is rounded and slightly bulbous. The back of the boot shows the same woven texture continuing up the heel, with the studded strap visible from behind.
The sole is black rubber with a low stacked heel, maybe an inch or so. The boots close with a side zipper running up the inner ankle. There's some light creasing across the vamp where the foot bends, and you can see a bit of wear on the leather at the toe.
