Black leather lace-up boots with a mid-calf shaft and chunky treaded sole. The leather has a matte finish with some natural grain visible across the surface. The round toe is reinforced and the lacing runs through metal eyelets up the front of the shaft, with a fabric pull tab at the back of the collar.
The sole is thick rubber with deep lug tread, and the heel is a continuation of the platform rather than a separate block. The welt stitching is visible where the upper meets the sole. Inside, there's a tan leather lining. The shaft sits about mid-calf height and the opening has a small buckle strap detail at the top on each side.
The leather shows some creasing at the flex points near the toe and around the ankle, consistent with wear. 98 Steel model has that military-meets-platform look with the exaggerated sole and tall shaft.
